2006-07 Tar Heel Captains Named
Davidsson, Gaus, Henderson, and Brandys Honored

Senior Marcus "Swede" Davidsson, the swedish-born hockey prodigy, is back for his fourth year representing the Tar Heels, this time wearing the captain's "C" on his chest. A stalwart on defense, Davidsson is sure to make opposing forwards pay the price in front of the Tar Heels' net. An unsuspecting offensive threat at times, Davidsson also will be looking to add to his two game-winning goals from last season.
Senior Ryan Gaus has traded in his goaltending gear for a defenseman's uniform, and has been rewarded with the honor of representing the Tar Heels as an alternate captain this season. A transfer to the University of North Carolina, Gaus spent his first three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, backstopping the Panthers to a National Sweet 16 finish as a freshman. He is back for his second season as a Tar Heel.
Senior defenseman Brooks Henderson and senior forward Glenn Brandys will be sharing the duty of serving as the second alternate captain of the Tar Heels this year. Both Henderson and Brandys are returning for their fourth seasons at the University of North Carolina. Henderson will be aiming to anchor a senior-laden defensive corps, while Brandys will surely be a role model as the lone returning senior on a young offensive front.
