Eighteen teams converged on Snellville, GA this weekend to seek a chance at representing the SECRHL in the National Championships hosted by the NCRHA in Feasterville, PA this April.  Two teams have already secured spots as Division champions for the 08-09 SECRHL season.
Joining UCF B as a contender for a National crown, the UCF Knights DI squad will be joined by the Owls of Florida Atlantic University to vie for the National Championship.  In Division I UCF won their 8th crown in 12 years, while FAU notched their first division championship since re-establishing their club following a few seasons with no team.
UCF battled rival UF in a hard fought 8-5 triumph.  Led by veteran Brandon Reich the UCF Nights will prepare to regain their form from the 2004 season in which they lost to then Champion Lindenwood University.  FAU will be among an elite group of 16 teams from across the nation looking to stake their claim as the best in Division II.
The SECRHL is excited for these teams and looks forward to April when the NCRHA National Championships begin.  Tune in March 2, 2009 for results from Selection Monday when the NCRHA Selection Committee decides the rest of the fields for the NCRHA National Championships.
The league will be uploading championship photos in the coming days.
