Team Showcase Initiative

FAU Owls lead the way

The SECRHL will begin a new initiative to showcase teams, starting this week and rotating through the teams we will post team articles to highlight the acheivements of the teams.  The first article was submitted by Steve Capandonis, coach of the FAU Owls.

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Owls Roller hockey team joined its first tournament in the southeastern region of the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association with their debut in Savannah GA. They start the season with 4 -0 record.

The team waited several months for game day to come and when it finally did, nothing could stop them. The Owls came in to Savannah with only six skaters and two goalies Christopher Capandonis Defense, Christopher Franzoi, Defense Vincent, Meunier, Defense, Brett Duncanson, Forward, Gregory Kneeves, forward and Daniel Reid, Forward  Phillip Diorio  and Al Amodeo Goalies.

The FAU Owls rolled in to a 7-5 win over the University of South Charleston, a 9-6 win over Georgia Tech, an 8-3 win over Emory and a tough 5-4 win over Florida State Seminoles to finish with a record of 4-0.

Absent players from the Tournament:

Donnie Bauer, Forward Drake Fallah, Forward Anthony Livolsi, Forward Konstantin Tigulev, Forward and Torrents, John Defense

The team is coached By: Gregory Kneeves Sr and Steve Capandonis.
